Police took the initiative to bury Abir’s body as his family members refused to accept the body, local correspondent quoting Sanjoy Kumar, Sub-inspector of Kishoreganj Model Police Station.
Caretaker of the graveyard Mahtab Uddin led the Namaj-e- Janaza of Abir, a student of North South University, but no people took part in the Janaza, UNB reports.
Quoting Abir’s father, his uncle Sahidul Islam told reporters that as their son was killed in police fire after he was involved in militant activities, they have no interest over his body.
Earlier on July 7, the Eid day, at least four people, including two policemen, were killed and 12 others injured in a bomb attack coupled with an exchange of gunfire after terrorists attacked at a temporary police check post near Sholakia Eidgah in Sadar upazila of Kishoreganj.
Police recovered two firearms, two local made weapons, two rounds of bullets and four magazines from the spot.
