In the wake of the hostage crisis at a Gulshan café, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has called an emergency standing committee meeting this afternoon, to be followed by a press conference.
Syrul Kabir Khan, a member of Khaleda’s media wing, said the party chief will hold an emergency meeting with the standing committee members at 3:00pm at hers Gulshan’s party office.
She is also scheduled to address a press conference at the office at 4:00pm, Syrul added.
The BNP chairperson is expected to discuss matters related to the hostage crisis at the Holey Artisan Bakery of Gulshan diplomatic zone, according to party insiders.
“She may clarify her party’s stance over the militant activities across the country,” Syrul said.
